Hemp Fiber 5% shives

product_1

Hemp grown for fibre is known as a plant with the most universal application, which, with implementation of various processing methods, can be used for a wide range of purposes.

The processed hemp is most commonly used in textile production, allowing to manufacture highly resilient and durable fabrics, clothes and household textile, such as carpets, curtains, tapestry, etc. Hemp may be mixed with other fabrics, including wool and flax, resulting in improved texture and appearance of the products. Processing of hemp fibre and its preparation for textile production does not involve use of pesticides and other chemicals, which makes it the most natural and environmentally friendly textile.

The hemp fibre is characterised by a very low lignin content, due to which it is not sticky and reminds of dry wood fibre. This makes hemp fibre suitable for manufacturing of paper products with application of the highest quality requirements: teabags, currency and cigarette paper or various special technological filters. The cigarette paper production sector is currently the most advanced, and utilises a blend consisting of 90% hemp fibre and 10% flax fibre.

The processed hemp fibre has premium mechanical properties, which makes it comparable to the qualities offered by the glass fibres. It is a spongy material enabling excellent absorption of moisture. The hemp fibre is highly rigid and is often used as an ingredient for production of composite materials, which are popular in the automotive and construction industry. Its application in this area as a durable reinforcing material is becoming a growing trend due to the increasing need of use of highly biodegradable and sustainable materials in the industry sector.

Typically, the hemp fibre is blended with polypropylene or polyester fibre to produce felt, which is then used to manufacture car interior elements, furniture and other goods of wide application.

Because of its exceptional properties, the hemp fibre will soon replace the products manufactured from synthetic and petroleum-based fibres, thus, popularity of its application in the construction industry is growing. Blending with other materials allows to produce a premium insulation material, suitable for thermal insulation of roofs, windows and walls, and an excellent sound insulation material. Mixing cement with hemp fibre has become increasingly popular in the recent years, as it allows to obtain half as light, seven times stronger and three times more flexible construction material.
